about
this is my feeble attempt to adapt to a world dominated by social media. an attempt too, to combine my two loves: sports physical therapy and writing. and finally, an attempt to both impart and receive knowledge in both the fields of sports physical therapy and creative/educational writing.
in addition, i have noticed in my short time as a clinician that i, as a new grad, tend to speak in the language of a physical therapist when communicating with my patients. regardless of the fact that patients come from all backgrounds, span all ages and ethnicities, and have different educational experiences, it is also more than likely that patients are not physical therapists (though this can occur). after three years being seeped in the language of physical therapy, therefore, it can be hard to transition to a clinic setting, where it is almost as though the pt must learn to "translate" the language he/she has learned in school back into terms that anyone can understand. for understanding is crucial in the process of establishing patient rapport, which is essential to patient healing. therefore, the written pieces on this website will be constructed in a manner in which, hopefully, the majority of individuals can understand.
