My name is Asha Anand (pronounced the same way you'd say "Sasha"). I recently completed my Doctorate of Physical Therapy in May 2015 and have since then had the opportunity to participate in various sports-PT related experiences. BUT total disclaimer: I'm still learning. And I think that will always hold true.

Despite knowing early on that I wanted to pursue a career in physical therapy, I also supported my life-long love of writing by graduating from Vanderbilt University in 2012 with a degree in English Literature and emphasis in creative writing.

In the summer of 2012, I began my physical therapy career at Emory University. The three-year long program reignited my desire to learn more about the role physical therapy plays in sports. And so.....

ABOUT ME:

Here I am now, on a track to take my Sports Certified Specialist exam early next year. I had an amazing first job surrounded by mentors with much sports knowledge and received many opportunities to provide patient care to athletes both on and off the field. I've learned a lot, but I've also learned there's so much more left to absorb.

That being said, this site is an attempt to explore the Sports Physical Therapist's role via writing. Enjoy and feel free to shoot me any questions, comments or suggestions!
